Do Unto Others

How should you and I behave?
What is good? What is true?
Do unto others as you would have
Others do to you.

Going back four thousand years,
A sage proclaimed something new:
Do unto others as you would have
Others do to you.

For people of faith in every age,
Believers hold a common truth:
Do unto others as you would have
Others do to you.

In every nation around the world,
The tolerant seek to make it so:
Do unto others as you would have
Others do to you.

How should you and I behave?
What is good? What is true?
Do unto others as you would have
Others do to you.
